The Open-Door Support and Safety Hub
The Open-Door Support and Safety Hubs are a new way for women, children and young people who are experiencing family violence, or families who need assistance with the care and wellbeing of children, to access the services they need.
The Hubs safely connect people directly to services and provide a coordinated response to a range of different needs, including when required a whole-family support and holding perpetuators to account.
The Open-Door Hubs is the Joining Families new initiative to change the way family violence services, family and children services, and other service providers such as doctors, schools, and hospitals, coordinate and connect to respond better to family violence issues while working with vulnerable children.
Our Hub is equipped with the training and tools to help us have insight and a better understanding of family violence. Our risk assessment procedures allow us a platform to build rapport and successfully engage perpetrators towards better outcomes for children.
HELPING TO BUILD STRONGER FAMILIES
The Open-Door provides one access point for women, children, and families to receive support if they are experiencing family violence, or any issue that impacts on child wellbeing and family functioning. In many cases, families will be referred onto the Joining Families Support Services Integrated Family Services for case work and therapeutic interventions.
